The LogYourRide iPhone app is a great cycling buddy. You can setup the app to tell you how you are doing as you are going and when you are done you can see your distance, time, and route in the app. You can also upload your data to the LogYourRun website for future review and share your adventures on your social networks. This app is designed to be easy to setup and to get you going as easily as possible. The app will ask for permission to use the GPS, which is used to measure the distance of your outdoor activities. Then you will be ready to press the start button and start your activity. The app works in the background so you can safely turn off the screen to save battery knowing that the app will still keep track of your activity. With the screen off the app uses very little battery - in testing the app only used 40% of battery while logging a 100 mile bike ride.Some of the other great features of the app include:full control of the iPhone music player from within the appvoice feedback at specific time or distance intervalson the go tweeting with TweetMyDistanceintegration with heart rate devices from Wahoo, Runalyzer and 60beatcustom heart rate zones with time in zones and voice feedbackIn addition the app also integrates with the LogYourRun.com website. You will also have access to the routes from all over the world that people have shared on the website so you can see popular local routes that people are sharing.The LogYourRun website also contain multiple training programs for various skill levels and goals, anything from getting into shape to more serious training programs.In addition the app has advanced features such as voice coaching for interval training, option to email data, and the ability to save lap data.NOTE: The LogYourRide application uses background location. Continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life.
